Rose Builders, Inc., Sean O’Kane AIA, Architect P.C., Rohlf’s Studio, Inc., G and S Installation LLC, The Georgian Island Residence, located in the private Tokeneke Association of Darien, Connecticut, is known throughout the architectural community for its magnificent views and beautiful landscapes. So much so that it was awarded the 2005 HOBI Award for Custom House of the Year by the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Connecticut. In 2006, this award winning home was featured on the cover of the Perfect Home Books Series, and continued on to be a finalist in the AIA CT Alice Washburn Awards Competition. Inspired by English Edwardian and Georgian style architecture, the exterior of this 8,800 square-foot retreat was built with Wissihickon Schist stone and sits upon its 5.25 acres of professionally landscaped grounds. Its eclectic interior merges historical character with modern functionality to provide the client the priceless waterfront views from every pivotal point within the estate. For G and S Installation, the Georgian Island Residence Project involved: weather stripping, gasket installation, re-glazing, caulking, lubricating, cleaning, insulating, painting, ordering of new hardware, existing hardware adjustments, and cosmetic touch-ups on over one hundred of CRITTALL’s Berkeley Series, steel windows and doors -- each of which was glazed with custom leaded glass and an exterior energy panel. On behalf of G and S Installation LLC, we would like to once again bestow our unreserved gratitude to the astounding team at E.M. Rose Builders, Inc. located in Branford, CT, Sean O’Kane AIA, Architect P.C. in Ridgefield, CT and Rohlf’s Studio, Inc. in Mt Vernon, NY.
